On Saturday, 21 February 2015 we had the honour to welcome Ms P.K. Jayalakshmi, Minister for Welfare of Scheduled Tribes, Youth Affairs, Museums and Zoos to the premises of Uravu. She participated in “Mulayultsavam 2015”, the Bamboo Cluster Federation’s Annual Meeting. In her warm speech she mentioned the 100-metre bamboo bridge Uravu Eco Links has built in Thiruvanthapuram and a bamboo training course conducted by Uravu, which she had attended in her college days. Afterwards she visited the various units set up by Uravu (handicraft, bag and pickles units, etc.). Unfortunately she had to leave before lunch and the arrival of the students of the Thrikkaipetta School. It was a great honour to welcome her as a distinguished guest and show her the activities and products of Uravu.
