Vinod Krishnan was appointed Director of Uravu Eco Links in 2024 and has been associated with Uravu Eco Links since its inception.
Vinod is currently attached to the Centre for Research and Education for Social Transformation (CREST), an autonomous institution under the Government of Kerala as its Executive Director. His academic background is in anthropology, and he studied at the University of Calicut, the University of Mysore, the University of Delhi, and Roskilde University, Denmark. He has been a fellow of the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Vinod has been working on developmental issues of indigenous people, Dalits and minorities in India, Sri Lanka and Southeast Asia, particularly Vietnam, for the past three decades. His experience includes research and developmental intervention on a wide range of subjects including decentralization, education, common property rights, the impact of globalisation on marginalised communities, livelihood and tourism etc. He has experience in working with professional bodies, research organisations, governmental organisations and academic institutions. Presently, as a part of his assignment with CREST, he is working on issues related to social exclusion and higher education of disadvantaged communities in India, particularly in Kerala
