by | Sep 8, 2025 | Blog, News, Uncategorized | 0 comments

Uravu Eco Links Village Library recently hosted the screening of Nekal , the national award-winning documentary from Wayanad, directed by M. K. Ramdas. At its heart, the film unravels the politics of seed and food, narrated through the life and words of Cheruvayal Raman—affectionately called Nellachan (Father of Paddy)—a custodian of indigenous paddy varieties.
The event gathered a politically and environmentally conscious audience, who engaged deeply with the film’s themes. After the screening, a thoughtful dialogue followed, where Baburaj, Daniel, Krishnan, Shamal, and Sadanandan shared their insights on the intertwined questions of food, farming, and power.
