Bamboo Village Onam at Uravu Bamboo Grove

The first Onam of Bamboo Village as a collective was a celebration of colours, flavours, and togetherness. Each unit contributed a dish to the grand sadhya, turning the feast into a symbol of what it means to be a community—many hands coming together to create something whole.
The festivities began with the traditional pookkalam (flower carpet), crafted in vibrant hues. Memories were shared, and senior artisans Njanan and Saradha were honoured for the legacy of craftsmanship they have gifted to the community.
After the feast, the air filled with laughter as Onam games unfolded—musical chairs, balloon bursting, bindi-on-the-fairy, and pot breaking. The winners were celebrated with small gifts, but the true joy was in the spirit of play and shared cheer.
This Onam was not just a festival, but a milestone—our first step in weaving collective traditions at Bamboo Village.
