From Monday, 23 December 2019 to Friday, 3 January 2020, two Indo-German yoga teachers from Aroga Yoga in Switzerland will join with Uravu Eco Links to offer a complete yoga and trekking programme. You can also choose to have Ayurvedic treatments as well as to join in with other activities in the Uravu Bamboo Grove Resort and at Kannur Beach.
Explore and dive deep into the beautiful culture of Wayanad, Kerala and its secluded Uravu Bamboo Village, surrounded by amazing nature. You will have the opportunity to live within the local community and learn about their way of life with art, food, landscape and deep-rooted knowledge of yoga and Ayurveda. This retreat takes up the same themes as all the activities we organise: encouraging community and multicultural involvement to help to spread the benefits throughout the local community.
The retreat will start with special Christmas celebrations in the eco-friendly Uravu community, and the following week we will celebrate New Year’s Eve on the pristine and beautiful beach of Kannur.
The Wayanad retreat offers and community interaction combined with yoga practice and Ayurvedic treatments. Kerala is the home of Ayurveda and our specialist doctors are trained in making assessments and treatments.
Our programme of optional activities allows you to explore in and around the area. Days will start with yoga, a traditional local breakfast, followed by a chance to enjoy excursions and other activities. These include the Brahamagiri hike and walking in the hills. You can also visit the local artisans and learn the local craft of making products with bamboo. Kerala is the perfect place to dip your toe into the rich and fascinating culture of India.
